Tue, 23 August 2005 07:27 In an extreme case I would have thought that significantly wider rear tyres relative to front would make the car harder to turn in (increase turn in understeer) as the increased rear grip relative to front encouraged the car to follow the thrust angle of the rear tyres when turning (parallel to car's front to rear axis). ^^ very poorly worded, will try to clarify if necessary. EDIT: At the very least I think it's more complex than just (x) tyre width = (y) max potential friction at contact patch = (z) threshold of understeer/oversteer.
