qld cabinet recently announced changes to the anti-hooning laws:

... the changes to legislation before State Parliament this week would ensure people caught hooning would lose their licence for at least six months.
Under the new laws, anyone caught taking part in dangerous driving including illegal drag racing, street racing and speed trials, will be hit with a minimum (6) month driver disqualification...
