never had an issue.... and my motor wasnt "well kept" before i got it.

havent had an issue but at the same time i can see your concerns.

split hose or a bad clamp will result the same near anything on that side so i don't think it would make a huge difference.

but like they say every little bit counts.
probably best to minimise the number of joins in the fuel tract for best results.
