lilcrash,

The 2T-G pistons as an answer to the thinking bit cannot be used.

The stroking of the 2T-G is very worth while. With the extra stroke and an oversize piston it can be taken out to 1940cc.

This will give a very drivable motor with heaps of low down power and will still rev to 6500 with stock cams, standard tune and jetting.

Best thing no-one will know what is inside as the authorities will still see the 2T engine number which relates to 1600cc.

To run the 3T crank in the 2T-G block, the block will have to be relieved to clear the con rod as it swings around. You will see where the crank and rods hit when they are dummied in place.

3T-GTE pistons result in too lower compression.

Stock 3T pistons would be a place to start but they do not have the fly-cuts to clear the valves. This can be done by a competent machine shop. Copy the cuts on the 2T-G piston. If there is doubt about this then all I can say I have done it before. There is plenty of meat in the piston crown. Mind you they are not as strong as a custom forged piston.

Custom pistons are the go, though.

Any of the work will involve completly stripping the motor down.

So if you decide to go custom pistons then make them 4mm oversize to 89mm to give the 1940cc with the 3T crank.

Regards

Rodger
