S-Series diff into a KE70

Hey there,
I'm currently putting an S-Series diff (drum to drum from an AE86) into a KE70, and I've found that the tailshaft doesnt bolt up (different PCD on the holes). I half expected that this would be the case.
I also noticed that the original tailshaft, although being a 2-piece design, each section cannot be simply interchanged unlike the original AE86. Does anyone know whether a complete AE86 tailshaft will fit? It comes down to whether the AE86 tailshaft fits on the output shaft splines of the K40 gearbox? and also the overall length?
Has anyone made this change before?
When I changed my AE86 to a T-Series diff, I used the trailing helf of a T18 tailshaft and bolted it up to the front half of my AE86 tailshaft.
I'm all confused as to whether this is do-able.
Cheers,
Joel
