ddeane Regular Location: PNG Registered: June 2002	Re: Attn: 1G guys Thu, 06 February 2003 00:37 Not sure when the cgange from Mk2 to Mk3 occured but the changes are fairly obvious. Will try and list some of the differences: Mk3 turbos have a different compressor housing and impeller, its bigger. As a result the plumbing coming off the turbos to the intercooler is not interchangable. Exhaust manifolds are different with the Mk2 having a divider on the back manifold. The Mk 3 manifold seem to be much better designed - remember the mk2 runs 7psi and the Mk3 11 psi. Inlet manifold seems to be the same - however the throttle body is different and the TPS is very different (will not plug up to a Mk2 loom. Idle control is interchangable The various sensors are different plugs - that is are not interchangeable in the loom - which make me think that they will tell a different story to the computer. Knock and O2 seem to be the same. Of course the looms are different wth different plug ends to the computer - of interes is that the Mk3 loom will plug into a &mgteu loom - this is something that I will look at further 'cos toyota don't usually do things like that unless they work. Injectors for the Mk3 flow an additional 10% and have different plugs. There must be lots of other things. Craig [Report message to a moderator]
