Only takes two resistors and a capacitor to make it work perfectly. I've done the same thing to my AE71 4agte running GZE electronics... the guide for the AE86 dash is here: http://www.rollamods.com/tech/ae86gzetacho.pdf The AE71 tacho board is a little different but the component values are the same.
