Wouldn't demotivate him that much..
I Painted my Wheels from silver to White, and I have been on Dirt roads, Gravel (he he), Tarmac for ages now and the paint is still sticking like never before!!!
My Wheels were painted with a etch primer first, A THOROUGH sanding first and make sure the wheels are very clean!!!
I had no problems painting them
The paint i used was Powerplus!
