The hand controller was really the only thing that was stopping people buying Microtech. People have a reaction to hand controllers, they seem to think that if it has one, it must be a toy. I know, I had that reaction. I ended up buying a Hawk, really cheap, great resolution, closed loop, stepper control blah, blah, blah. It was $1543 all up, loom, softwarem, connecters. Good software, even if it does take a while to work out. The thing is, I race with a guy who runs MTX8 on his Z and it behaves as well if not better than my car. This comes down to tuning, but it does show that just because it has a hand controller it doesn't have the best resolution. He gets over 300 hp out of a 2.9, so you can draw your own conclusions about how good MTX8 is. Very well priced too. I would be very interested to hear how the laptop programming goes, good luck with it.
