If stock GZEs are that good, why get rid of the S/C for a turbo, or do anything to modify it?
Getting rid of the GZE manifold is simply another modification that will net more power, just like getting extractors & exhaust, or bigger air filter & cold air induction, or pissing off the S/C for a turbo. Would you go to the trouble of a turbo conversion & keep the standard airbox? Or get a nice set of extractors or a big dump pipe & bigger exhaust system & keep the standard muffler?
As has been said there's no reason it won't work, but the same goes for the S/C and it seems you can see the merit in changing that. The ZE manifold is obviously designed due to space restriction, bet luckily there's a much better one commonly available that wil bolt straight up. It's a no brainer really.
Keep an eye out in the For Sale section & chuck up a post in Wanted, a TPS will turn up sooner or later & shouldn't be more than $50.
