I know they are fatter, much fatter, but the gearbox mounts of the Getrag and the w58 from behind a 2jz looked really similar to me, and they both go in the same car,
How different can they be???

Honestly I don't know exactly how different they are, but to be honest I suspect the gearbox crossmember will be the least of your worries if you decide to convert from a W58 to a V160/1 
The sheer dimensions of the gearbox are on a whole new scale in comparison to a W58
