I learned something new today, maybe a lot of you know about this but its new to me. That acid residue that builds up on top of your battery can actually discharge your battery. My car was starting to turn over a bit slowly after been lying up for a while. It still started but turned over slow. I read a Toyota electronic instruction manual that mentioned that you should test for battery discharge by using a multimeter. Place the negative probe on the negatiev terminal and run the positive over top of the battery. You should get .o3 volts max. When I tested it I got 8.6 volts at a couple of points. After cleaning the battery everything is fine and another lesson is learned.
