The best idea would be to put a kit through but it could be as simple the needle and seat not being adjusted correctly (overfueling/underfueling).
If you know a bit about cars it isn't too difficult to put a gasket kit in it but get someone to tune it for you. Thats something you wouldn't wanna get wrong. Hope that helps.
