Daved Regular Location: Burwood VIC Registered: March 2004	Re: how tell if its a 4.2 or 5.0 V8 [holden] Thu, 22 September 2005 10:00 I had the same problem some years back with a V8 LH hatchback then an LX V8, its damn hard to see you need a mirror and a light and you get down low on the side of the block (in the grease and goo) looking for letters about 20-30mm high cast into the block about the sump - and of course I couldn't find either. Had to presume both were 253, pity, a 308 isd worth plenty more, especially in a Torana ! Must be an easiet way. [Report message to a moderator]
