Try and get the 18RGEU if you can. The mikuni solex carbs are well due for a rebuild now, and they aren't easy to find parts for.

Also, you'll never have any cold starting problems.
The 2TGEUs even come with electronic ignition, so good spark is possible easily.

Also, I've just wired up my 2TGEU in my KE35, which is almost identical, so I can help. As well as the wiring diagram and computer pinouts found on:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/classic-celica

I had a 2TG with twin carbs and cams, went well for a while, but was a sick motor anyways...... still. A dog when cold.
