Engine 5SFE.

Crank pulley bolt:

After consulting the Haynes manual I bent 1 screwdriver and broke 2 12 point sockets and a 6 point socket.

Tried the WD-40 leave it for days, with a 58cm breaker bar (now with impact socket) and now with my wife on the brake instead of trying to stop the turning with a screwdriver.
Didn't work.

Tried to heat it with a propane torch then use same breaker bar. Didn't work.

Got a 500 ft-lb 3/4" impact wrench. Got it off, but took some seconds to loosen (so don't give up immediately).

Crank pulley:

Tried a 3 arm gear puller. Broke the front lip of the pulley.

Tried a pry bar behind the pulley but it broke the rear pulley lip.

Finally got a "Universal Pulley Puller" but wasn't universal as it didn't have the 6mm (I think) bolts required for the pulley. Got some old carby retainer bolts which did the job.

Now all I need is a new pulley. Smile

I hope this helps anyone trying to so this as the advice I got on this site helped me.
