esv8,
It would be a great conversion. Bigger caliper, vented larger diameter rotor. RDA make a nice slotted rotor.
Still fits in a 13inch mag wheel, but a change in wheel stud PCD from the original.
There are camber angle issues when using the complete RA65 stut/hub/brake assembly. Grab the RA65 lower control arm as well.
Two things to correct this.
You could move the inner control arm mount outwards (redrill) to bring camber back. Then/or.
Convert the struts to coilover/adjustable spring platforms and get an adjustable strut top this will also help with the camber and caster issues. The top strut tower mounting point may need to be plated over and redrilled to suit (this will add strength anyway, where it is sometimes is needed).
There maybe issues with the steering arm length and angles. The more front end parts you can get off the RA65 the better. It can help you to sort things like this out.
An increase in master cylinder size is required, maybe try an MC from a late model Camry which is 1 inch bore, dual circuit, two bolt mount. First check what is in the RA65 that is the source of parts.
Think about the rear as well. It would be handy to match wheel PCD. A conversion to a T series diff, drums and all from an RA 23/28. Will need to get a dif conversion place to convert the T series to the Corolla leaf spring. Or modify the Corolla's rear to accept upper and lower control arms and panhard bar.
Also overhaul kits for the calipers, new bearings and oil seals for the hubs. All these little things need to be considered too.
How's that for a start?
Regards
Rodger
