rob_RA40 Forums Junkie Location: c'town, NSW Registered: May 2002	Re: 18RC timing chain replacement Tue, 11 February 2003 23:38 that piece of the front timing cover that gets in the way of the chain is a bitch! its like just one little useless lip on the edge of the cover FFS! what we did to get around this was to not join the chain, fit the chain with the join up the top and stick a bit of wire in each end of the chain, then we dropped the chain down far enuff to get the timing cover on past the slack chain and then lifted the ends of the chain up and then joined the chain. was a couple of years ago now thats as much as i can remember.
