I'll have to disagree there. A leaf-sprung rear end cannot possibly offer the same lateral control as a coil-sprung rear end, not to mention the other benefits that come with the use of control arms.

I'm not saying the benefits are worth the pain of a conversion, but the benefits most certainly are there. Why do you think Toyota (and many other manufacturers) bothered with the more expensive coil-sprung setups at all?
