Since the first test is done on breath alcohol levels (calculated as BAC) not actual blood levels, things like breath freshners and cherry ripes (old wives tale?) can show inaccurate heightened levels that wouldn't be reciprocated in your blood. If you don't have any drinks and drive, the 0.02 BAC is your safety barrier. My theory: It's easier just to not have that first drink, than to be tempted for the next and the next then guessing your level, before hopping in the car. [Report message to a moderator]
