Either a leak in the intake manifold somewhere, you have a very dirty throtle body or a air passage in your cooling system.

Give your throttle body a good clean with some throttle body/carby clean then check timing.

If its still doing it afterwards, park up a steepish hill (front of car higher then the rear) remove radiator cap and check water levels, allow to idle for atleast 4-5mins giving the throttle a quick dab everyso often.

Last but not least if all else fails, spray some throttle body/carby cleaner around any joines on the intake manifold, if idle changes you got a air leak causing false signals from your air flow meter or map sensor which ever is the case.
