It seems that a few 1J owners going the copper route as they seem to foul up easily, and are much cheaper to replace.
Champion Gold are apparently one of the best (Hot 4s review of sparkies on a dyno) and are the cheapest.

If you are after platinums (which only last longer, don't give any extra power) you can get some NGK-R BKR6EP-8. The non-platinum alternative is NGK-R BKR6E-8.

I've got a set of SplitFire Tripe Platinums ready to go into my Soarer soon. They better be good at $120 for six (trade price!). They came up most powerful platinum plug during tests.
