The A350E's have 6 solenoid's. A340E have 3 solenoids and A341E have 4.
There are 3 on/off type solenoids(for changing gear) and 3 proportional PWM types for adjusting shift quality. These are line pressure, accumulator pressure and TC lockup. There is not mechanical cable linked to the throttle anymore.

There are now aftermarket controllers available in the US. I've seen one mob who have a specific program for this particular tranny already.

Clint(CLG) has a couple sitting in his driveway that were originally coupled to a N/A 2JZ. Can't remember what car they came from, JZX100?. Looks exactly like a A341E just slightly longer. Plenty of info on the net about them and can handle similar torque to the A341E. Input shaft and bell housing flange looked indentical to the A34x series.

Was a standard fitment in a Landcruiser(Lexus spec) as well as later LS400's so should be pretty tough. Has been replaced with the A650E.

I've got the factory manual service manual for these lying around somewhere too.
