Wilbo, if he is using a MAP sensored engine that info doesnt apply On MAP sensor Toyota engines, the COR is triggered by the "FC" pinout of the ECU. This FC output is an open collector, meaning than when triggering, it connects to GROUND. Of the 5 wires, in most common systems: # B-R => 12V ign power from EFI main relay # B (or B-W on some) => Starter motor switch from keybarrel # L-B (the blue wire ) => fuel pump power output # G-R => FC pin trigger from ECU # W-B => earth So how does it work? The toyota system does not run/prime the fuel pump prior to cranking the engine. It runs the pump whilst the engine is cranking, and then the ECU controls the fuel pump. It is a simple 12V on/off control. Having the starter trigger to the COR is there to aid the fuel rail pressue and engine starting up whilst the engine is cranking. You can cheat this by momentarily cranking the starter (short enough not to start the engine) and the pump will run for a couple of seconds before shutting off. [Report message to a moderator]
