since when is a blacktop a vvti

i thought all 20vs whether black or silver were just vvt

cam timing is either retarded or advanced by one solenoid

i didnt think the blacktop ecu was that clever

i might be wrong but im pretty sure they just turn vvt on after about 3500 or 4000 rpm

and u dont get oil pressure probs if theyre not hooked up

the cam gear just stays retarded
when u get the oil pressure in the cam sproket section it advances the timing of the gear

i have seen once where on an ems it didnt make much diference on the dyno whether is was on or off

like someone said best just get an adjustable cam gear for it

another thing is its a big pain to tune vvti since u have to take into affect oil pressure change
