Fri, 14 October 2005 04:23 Basic ecnonomics revolves around the principles of (a) supply: that is the number of goods to be sold, and (b) demand: the number of people willing to buy those goods. Put together, supply and demand determine the price of a given good. Therefore if supply outstrips demand then prices are likely to fall, but if demand outstrips supply then prices will more than likely increase. So while there appears to be heaps of this particular car for sale, there is also just as much demand to buy them, meaning that inevitably people are willing to pay more to get the car they want.
