i know shane did this on 1jz-747 and it allowed for him to run 10s, so why cant they perform just as well for drift?

Laughing Laughing Laughing ahhhh, thanks for that, i needed a laugh Smile

why won't a drag setup perform as well for drift, let us count the ways ;

and anyway, 10's have nothing to do with it, it's to 60ft time that will be affected most (and yes he had a great one)

now.. drag = rear weight transfer and soft rear end for GRIP

drift.. little weight transfer and hard springs all round = no grip...

and for those kiddies that KEEP on saying you need grip for drift....

look at back wheels.... spinning = much lowe friction than non-spinning tyres..

look at front wheels..... turned to FACE THE DIRECTION THE CAR IS GOING... and if the front wheels are providing more force (from grip) than the rear wheels.. the car spins Wink

kudos for trying somthing different in the aussie dorito "scene" but don't get confused as to what you are setting the car up for Very Happy

lol i know the theory behind drift suspension, i was just stating the versatility of koni's...they can go run 10s on a soft setting and then be stiffened up till it feels like you're running on bump stops ( i have them in the back of my rally escort)

The cressy hangs right out as it is with just low aurora springs and a stock flogged out LSD...should be awesome with a 2 way and some better shocks.

I think i'll go for the koni route at this stage. Brand new yellows are around $500 for a pair...only mx73 ones were listed but you get the idea. I should be able to make up my own collets, hats and sleeves, or buy a set off john for $250 or so.
I dont know the price on new king springs but all in all it should come in around the price of non adjustable JIC (possibly rooted) jzx81 coilovers landed in oz.

Thanks for all the help guys, my car would have never even gotten to turn key stage without tou lot.
Cheers,
Troy
