OK, I am interested in the serial data that the ECU can output when TE2 is shorted to E1.
An overview of what I talking about can be found here (pdf ~330K). OBD is pre OBD-II (duh) and scan tools aren't really available. Things like 7M-GE's, 1JZ's (pre vvit) etc have the ability to send out serial data I believe 
The data output contains a number of things that I think would be quite groovy to know As such I am going to look at reading the data somehow...(I do have a little bit of electronics experience).
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be quite thankful (anyone work at toyota perhaps and can make some scans of relevant doco that I don't have access too?).
