Just want to make sure if I get a GTEU I'm not suffering a 30 horse power loss or something Smile

In general, Japanese emmisions gear does not choke a motor (22R-E excluded).
If its working properly, then it only does something at idle/vacuum, and switches off under WOT.

Its when it gets gummed up that it affects performance.
