Last i heard is if the car was made before June 1976 it doesnt require the cat or unleaded filler neck as it didnt have a certain ADR that post June 1976 cars have. I dont have a cat on my car or unleaded filler neck but i also haven't engineered it yet!!! Best thing to do is make a cat that you can unbolt and bolt a peice of straight pipe in its place for racing etc, or leave the pipe in until you get defected or have to go for a pink slip. Thats what i will be doing if the engineer tells me i need one.
