isnt the whole idea around programmable ignition to utilise a 3d map?

I know a curve based on revs would be much simpler, but different loads at identical rpm's would benefit from different timing settings.

If I went custom ignition I would want a 3d map, otherwise its basically like an electric version of a vacuum advance unit Confused
