i think ... for starters..t he dB limit on exhusts, should be set for a given rpm... i think at the moment, it is at "significant RPM"... waht the hell is significant.... significant enough to ger the car rolling.. or significant enough to break the dB limit? Although i havnt had anytroubles with the police about noisy car, im giving it till the end of the year before i do. I am from melbourne, and i dont know of anyone that has been done for noisy cars, although the neighbours complain when me and me mates go the local servo/car lovers at 1am..... Most 'performance' exhusts sound pretty dosile under about 1/2 rpm, its really only once you rev the tits off the car do you make lots of noise, and who has the money to pay for the petrol if we redline our cars at every chance?? not me!!
I think its a bit extreame if a cars noise/stereo sound is enough to make the windows shake when they go around the corners, but yeah.. who is wanting to sleep at night these days???
P.S. i think my brake squeel in the cold would blow 80 dB's
