as title says. i got myself a MZ12 soarer which has a 6MGE in it. from what ive been told, they are a straight swap for a 5me MA61 , maybe even a MX62 for that matter.
engine condition:
this car had been sitting for around 6 or more months. it started in like 2 cranks after all that time like it was driven yesterday. even though it was sitting, there was toyota coolant in the radiator. there are no signs of cappachino in the oil cap either. we ran the car for about 30-40 mins and temperature DID NOT budge from the bar below the middle. engine did seem to run with considerable smoothness considering it had old crusty plugs and leads and probly stale fuel. only problem with this engine that we think is attributed to the prolonged sitting is that it does blow s little smoke on rev out. we had it idleing and every 5 or so miuntes we would give it a rev and some smoke would come out. we do suspect that hardened valve stem seals are to blame for the problem.
anyway. i believe these engines arent that common and they do make respectable power (190 bhp iirc).
