Hi guys,
To all the Crown freaks out there in the forum:
I did some research on the internet yesterday and found that the Crown is not in the SEVS list of DOTARS. It is also not found in the "LIST OF VEHICLES IELIGIBLE FOR IMPORT UNDER SEVS".
I presume that this means the Crown can be added to the SEVS list if an application for inclusion of the car is made. This most probably has to be done by a compliance workshop.
Another important thing: The main condition for a vehicle being eligible to be imported under the SEVS is that it should not have been produced in Full Volume in Australia. The Crown satisfies this condition.
I found that the Supras, Skylines, Soarers, etc all are included in the SEVS list and they are all newer than 15 years .... they are all being imported without any problems.
Theoretically, the Crown CAN be added to the SEVS list. So why not take some initiative on this guys ???
Just imagine .... if the Crown 1990 and later models were added to the SEVS list .... our selection of available models would be amazing !! The UZS 141, 151, 177, 186 etc ..... wow !!
Here is a link to an online Japanese auction website with username and password, to see how many Crowns are listed !!

Waiting for your thoughts on the inclusion of the Crown on the SEVS list guys !! I have also had a look at the form for application to include a vehicle in the SEVS list. It should be available at the URL I have included above.
Will wait to see your thoughts back in this thread !! Thanks.
