Who's insurance company are you dealing with, yours or his? Also, am I right in assuming you only have 3PP insurance? A friend of mine was recently in the same situation as you, and the at fault party's insurance company wanted to class his car as a write-off. They paid him out the (perceived) value of the car, however he was also able to keep the car which he then sold and came out a little bit ahead. It may come down to your own insurance policy though.. I know Shannons used to offer salvage rights of the vehicle to the owner, but I can't remember if this was only for Comprehensive policies or not... Either way best of luck, and I hope you get to keep your car.. It really does show the hard work that's gone into it... [Report message to a moderator]
