ANDRA and the Adelaide International Raceway in South Australia is proud to announce that the long running and immensely popular 4, 6 and Rotary Nationals will now feature the entire ANDRA Sport Compact class line up for 2006. February 25th and 26th will be the dates to lock in as Adelaide - the City of Churches goes into Hi Tech overdrive.
Spanning two days, the event will host some of Australias finest Sport Compact drag cars on the Saturday, before being transformed into a sea of show and shine vehicles on the Sunday. This historical SA event is set to move into a new era by aligning itself with the ANDRA Sport Compact classes. All 7 recognised classes will be offered, with some exciting promoter discretion categories as well.
The opportunity for the event to be run under the ANDRA rules has been an ongoing project between AIR and ANDRA, and the key people involved are very excited at the new event format.
This is a huge step forward for Sport Compact Drag Racing here in Australia, because now we have an event specifically designed to cater for the southern states. The long wait is over for South Australia, as big time Sport Compact drag racing is back in town, and set to rock AIR like never before.
I see this event as a new chapter in not only AIR history, but ANDRA as well. SA is steeped in Sport Compact Drag Racing greatness, and now theres a fantastic opportunity to showcase the hardcore Hi Tech race cars this state is renown for Jason OHalloran, ANDRA Sport Compact Director
Each year the 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals attracts big names from all over Australia. Now, with the addition of the ANDRA Sport Compact classes into this event, I believe that the 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals will become the Royal Show for Sport Compact Drag Racing - Anna Micheel, Adelaide International Raceway Manager
