I agree with the slow writing speed. I haven't burned a PSX game in years, but when I did, 1x speed *always* worked, whereas 4x rarely worked.

Also, darker discs seem to have more success. Perhaps it is related to standard PSX discs being black underneath, and the laser working at a certain wavelength ???

One other thing to try (if the PSX is old), turn the Playstation upside down when playing games. The laser drops ever so slightly closer to the disc and makes a few of my games work a *lot* better. No skipping video etc.
