	You can get these push in brass threded inserts for plastic/timber that are knurled on the outside for grip. Mullings fatener have them but I don't remember what they are called.  
 
Get some trim of the same origin, melt with a small butane burner and use a soldering iron to finish. Then you can redrill if necessary.
