Does your A/C still have gas in it?
If so you will need to have it degassed as it is illegal to dump the gas.

Why are you changing the compressor? Is it noisy or seized?
If it is noisy or seized then the system should be flushed otherwise there could be bits of metal floating around in the system from the old compressor that could damage the new compressor or cause other problems.

The receiver/drier (filter) should also be replaced as should the o rings on any fittings that are undone.

After all this is done the system will need to be regassed and then you can drive around as cool as a cucumber again Very Happy .
