I don't think wiring is that hard, as long as you know how to read wiring diagram and you know where all your sensors are then it should be ok(should be lot simpler than factory ecu diagram).
But it is fairly time consuming if you are going to do it neat and tidy, and thats why pro charges you that much. Well, definitely not $2000 by the way, but more like $650.
