If it is a 7.8 (out of a falcon) it will take around 1.5 litres. The smaller the crown wheel housing the less oil you will need. Simply rule, have the rear of the car on ramps, remove the plug and fill until the oil starts to dribble out the plug hole. Put the plug back in and enjoy your cruising.
