Tue, 25 February 2003 11:25 Insurance want to write it off because its cheaper for them, If you agree to it being "Written off" be very careful, you have too kinds NB These laws were in QLD to try and stop all "rebirthed" cars from making it back on the road. "Repairable write off" this kind means the cars vin has been listed as a repairable write off and you'll need it inspected after its repaired, before it can be re-registered. "Statutory Write off" The car's VIN number is cancelled and it is only allowed to be used for wrecking or dismantling. I guess if you're not happy you could take the insurance company to small claims court, using the argument, it wasn't your fault and yet they won't repair the damage their client made.
