Tue, 25 February 2003 22:49 Old School, To get the width of your Diff is pretty easy. You will need the help of a friend tho to ensure it is Accurate. All you need to do is jack the back of your car up (A trolley Jack under the diff centre works best) and remove both the rear wheels. The you need an acurate tape and two straight edges. A metal ruler is good or otherwise anything you know is straight. Once the wheels are off you need to hold the straigh edges along the mounting face of your rear drums (The bit the rim presses up against) Then with the help of whoever is at the other wheel you can measurethe distance between the two straight edges without the drums or diff centre getting in the way. This way ensure the tape is nice and straight/accurate. Just make sure the straight edge is hard up againt the mounting face and not on an angle to it at all.
