Just like other one that you got. Capacitor (cylinder) is there to prevent sparking between the points and your car will run just fine without it though points will wear out quickly. You can check operationing of the points by connecting bulb (12v) between coil and dizzy (into that black wire) and then crank your engine by some wrench. Light should go on and off. You can also use ohm meter instead of bulb. Your rotor is in right position, right? Check spark if there is one I would be almost 100% sure that your dizzy is 180degrees wrong.
