Found it, ended up was leaking manifold pressure through one of the connected hoses. Now she runs fine.
Thanks for your help joel, i still thought the fuel pump was sposed to run at 'ON' so they it could pressurise the lines and ready them for starting??
seems to be alright and once the motor is running the fuel pump is running at 'ON'
