oh yeah.. this too for troubleshooting problem starters....
Check each step in order:
Battery charge
Battery terminals and immediate cables in good condition--no fraying
Ground strap from tranny to left frame rail in good condition
Ignition key cylinder
Clutch start safety switch
Starter relay; P/N 28300-16010 (Be forewarned that this relay costs $70+)
Main power cable from positive terminal to starter; P/N 82122-12310 (~$30)
Starter solenoid
Starter
