what kind of car does your friend have?
If its one of those old celicas, I would be inclined to think your AE86 (i assume its an AE86) would out handle your friend through the mountains (assuming no hardcore suspension work) since they are a bit heavier.
If it's in a T-18 then i reckon it'll be close. As the t-18 and AE86 have pretty much identical floor plans.
All this assuming stock vs stock.
PS. i'd be up to watch you guys dorifting all over the place  just let me know some more details.
