mine are rough with a grey/brown buildup

my friend's car detonates ... and it's not gasket, although a coupoe of the larger chunks are
these are slivers of metal, some not so small.

His mechanic took the head off to adjust the tappets a while ago and said "you need a new engine... very soon", and I cant imagine it's got better since then Smile
his plugs were wet with oil and black carbon buildup, but i knew they were screwed Smile

I was actually really suprised my plugs were totally 100% dry, because my car burns a LOT of oil..... any ideas how this could be possible?
