Famous last words my friend. From what I gather, this is the first time you've had your Mk4 serviced since you purchased it? Just because it's a modern car that runs well doesn't mean it doesn't need regular servicing. You really need spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, and a general checkup every 10,000kms and probably every 5,000km in the middle I'd be checking the oil level, changing the oil filter and checking the condition of the spark plugs as well.
A car that runs well is a trap for young players!
