i had to use the gze a/c compressor to turn my p/s pump, thus the idler pulley is used the correct way (pushing onto the flat side of the belt) its probably not a good thing that your idler pulley pushes on to the ribbed side of the belt, either track down the LHS acces. braket with a/c compressor or try different braket for your alt. does the 4ac bracket fit? i guess if the car has run like this for quite a while then i spose this system works, just keep an eye on your belt for signs of wear (the ribs may wear off). just a thought could the idler pulley be replaced with a ribbed pulley from another car? anyone here with V6 commodore- do they have ribbed idler pulleys?
